People congregate They anticipate their day It starts with coffee Each unknowing of what the day will bring For some it will bring order, regularity But for some everything will change Millions of lives will start today Millions of lives will end Most will stay somewhere in the middle. Scurrying franticly to their lives What will the day bring?

A puzzled look runs across your face only for a moment a cautious smile I am a Stranger a strange stranger I avoid your eyes pretend not to see not to notice your stare this awkward moment

"Is that a fella?" the old man whispers to    me, eyes fixed on the affectionate couple cuddling     on a park bench. "No" I answer "they are both girls."     The old man knits his brow,  in deep thought,       but remains silent.

 A Piercing light shines   into the dark, sleepy room     then quickly scatters

Gnarled teeth and bulging eyes Incubus sneaks in, making his way steadily back home. At first know one notices, at first thinking he will leave on his own this time. Yet still, Incubus stays, depravedly gnawing his way through sanity, leaving only decay behind.

Nights are chaos. Stars start to whisper.   Other worldly lights,   it seems. Sigh, turn over. Close your eyes. The stars' murmurs grow louder and louder, until they are all that can be heard, they have a lot to say,  it seems.

For all the remembered pain I've held on to, for the times that I felt shunned, for all the lies painted over truth, for the manipulation, the humiliation, the fear, for the times that you wrenched from me something I held dear, for the mask you wore, for the smiles you faked, for the sympathy you did not mean, for all the times I felt unclean because of you, for all of it, I forgive you, and when I can forget my own bitter heart, I'll forgive myself too.  

My breath covers the glass of the claustrophobic space Because on the other side it's so much colder. But inside here I'm safe and dry, At least I like to think so It is a beautiful presumption On the inside this phone booth Which now seems to be flooded With the lack of everything Inside here, the world ain't less dangerous or mean And the glass won't stop the flood, Or keep out all the pain Though it's nice to make myself believe It's so safe, So safe, So safe, So safe..
